Maximum Share of Naturally Renewable Raw Materials
Türkheim / Germany, July 2024: The premium manufacturer of leather fiber materials, Salamander Premium Solutions, has conducted a radiocarbon analysis to determine the proportion of renewable raw materials in its products. The analysis, also known as the C14 method, was carried out in collaboration with LABnet in Dülmen/Germany, and a leading research institute, the renowned ETH Zurich. The results are remarkable: the bio-based carbon content in the products ranges between 91% and 97.5%, while the fossil carbon content is reduced to as low as 2.5%. These results confirm the company's commitment to sustainable production.

Additionally, the results indicate that no cheap mineral fillers are present in the examined materials, as no relevant amount of inorganic carbon (TIC = total inorganic carbon) was detected. This further underscores the purity and quality of the products.
